Movement
From the Daoist tradition
Tai Chi
Tai Chi calms the mind, improves balance and coordination, and builds a relaxed, flowing strength. It's a practice of slow, continuous movements done with focused attention and steady breath. Move within your comfortable range.
Moving slowly and continuously while staying attentive trains balance and body awareness and shifts the nervous system toward a calm, focused state, which is why it feels meditative. You may feel steady, grounded, and gently warmed, with a quiet focus settling in. Tai Chi has been widely studied for improving balance, reducing stress, and supporting both physical and mental wellbeing. Tai Chi began as a Chinese martial art and evolved into a moving meditation practiced for health and calm for centuries. You don't need to remember the sequence or do it perfectly, simply following the slow movements is the practice, and it becomes more natural over time.
