Poetry Slam Draft

The Poetry Slam Draft channels what you're feeling into raw, expressive words, helping you process emotion and create something of your own. It's a writing exercise where you pour a feeling or experience into a quick, unpolished poem.

Shaping a feeling into words and images gives it form and some distance, which can be both a release and a way of understanding the emotion more deeply. You may feel self-conscious at first, then absorbed, and often a release or satisfaction in giving a feeling shape. Expressive and poetic writing has been studied for supporting emotional processing and wellbeing. It draws on the spoken-word and slam poetry tradition, where raw, personal expression matters more than polish. If you feel you're not a poet or the lines come out clumsy, that's completely fine, this is for you alone, and the rawness is the point, not the craft.

Your program picks one to three of these a day, in the minutes you have.
