Journaling
From the Christian tradition
Examen Journaling
Examen journaling helps you reflect on your day, notice what gave you energy and what drained it, and learn from how you moved through it. It's a reflective writing exercise where you look back over the day with honesty and gratitude.
Reviewing the day with attention to what lifted or drained you reveals patterns you'd otherwise miss, building self-knowledge and a gentler, more aware relationship with how you spend your time. You may feel gratitude, some honest recognition of where the day went sideways, and a sense of closure. Structured daily reflection has been studied for supporting self-awareness, learning, and wellbeing. The Examen is a centuries-old practice from the Christian Ignatian tradition, here adapted as a secular daily review. If the day feels like a blur or nothing stands out, that's normal, even a small noticing counts, and the reflection deepens with practice.
Your program picks one to three of these a day, in the minutes you have.
