Coherence Breathwork
This modern breathwork takes you from an activated, energized state into deep calm, easing stress and leaving you centered. It's a modern guided breathwork session in two parts, a strong breath that draws the belly and pelvic floor up on each inhale and hold, then slow, even heart-centered breathing, ending in a meditation. The first part is intense, so ease off if you feel lightheaded.
The first part uses a forceful inhale with a squeeze of the belly and pelvic floor, held and repeated, which builds pressure and a charged, activated feeling. The second part slows the breath to an even six counts in and six out, which brings your heart rate and breath into a smooth, synchronized rhythm, often called coherence and linked to a settled nervous system, so the practice moves you from activation into calm. You may feel lightheadedness or warmth in the first part and a clear settling in the second, both normal, and you can ease back anytime. Research on slow, coherent breathing has found it supports stress resilience and emotional regulation. It's a modern practice pairing an intense, energizing breath with heart-rhythm breathing, rather than any classical method. If the squeeze-breath feels strong at first, that's normal, ease in and let it build.
